Shutting down 11.2 Clusterware

In 11gR2 RAC, you need to follow below steps to shutdown cluster
1. srvctl stop database -d dbname
2. srvctl stop nodeapps -n nodename
3. crsctl stop cluster (to shutdown asm and crs)
4. crsctl stop cluster -all (to shutdown cluster on all nodes)

The command ‘crsctl stop crs’ will stop the databases, ASM, all other resources (including nodeapps) and clusterware daemons in proper order. Unless you want each of the components separately, this single command is sufficient.
