OEM Ports

What ports are used in communication between the Grid Control OMS and a Management Agent?

Enterprise Manager Grid Control – Version: 10.2

Which ports need to be opened when a firewall is between an Enterprise Manager 10g, Release 2 OMS and an Oracle Management Agent?

Oracle Management Server (OMS) > Oracle Management Agent (OMA) communication

The OMS communicates with the OMA via HTTP or HTTPS depending on whether the OMA has been secured

– The OMA’s port defaults to 3872 for a 10.2 OMA and 1830 for a 10.1 OMA.
– To be sure of the OMA’s port, run the command ’emctl status agent’. The port is shown in
the ‘Agent URL’

If monitoring an Oracle Database target, the OMS needs to be able to connect to the database
using the listener port, which, by default is 1521.

The OMS requires the ability to ‘ping’ the agent host.

Oracle Management Agent (OMA) > Oracle Management Server (OMS) communication

The OMA communicates with the OMS via the OMS’s HTTP or HTTPS ‘Upload’ port depending on whether
or not the OMS has been secured.

– The OMS’s default upload port is 1159 for a 10.2 OMS (default is ‘secured’). But it is
necessary to communicate via the non-secure port (4889) in order to secure the agent during
installation.
– The OMS’s secure and non-secure port can be checked in the file
/install/portlist.ini. Look for the lines:

Enterprise Manager Central Console Port =
Enterprise Manager Central Console Secure Port =
